The Momnificent Life Book Review and Giveaway

Lori Radun wrote The Momnificent Life: Healthy and Balanced Living for Busy Moms specifically for Mom's like me who are struggling with where we fit in the overall scheme of our lives and are left feeling many days like we have nothing left to give. The book provides detail advice on how to deal with balancing the many items that seem to be on many mom's plates. Juggling being a mom with work, home, spouses, friendships, fiances, and more is all discussed in detail within the book.

This was actually a great book for me to read right now as I currently feel like I am being pulled in a million different directions. I am pulled in one direction by Bo and trying to fulfill his needs. I am pulled in another direction by the twins and this pregnancy. Yet another direction by my mom. And another direction by Mike. And by the move. And by my job. And by my friends. And well... you get the idea. I have too many irons in the fire right now and too many people and things that require my attention - let along trying to find time for "me" in the midst of all of this. It's a difficult line to walk -- more or less balance.

While I won't say that Radun solved all of my problems (impossible at this point!), she did provide me with a great deal of insight and many coping techniques that I plan to use as I try to shuffle (maybe waddle is a better word??) and survive my way through the next few weeks.

Softlips Lip Balm Review and Giveaway!

Last week, I received 14 tubes of Softlips lip balm in the mail. It's every girls dream! An unlimited supply of different types and flavors of lip balm!! :)

I received: Tinted Lip Conditioner in Rose, Bronze, and Pearl and Lip Protectant in Wildberry, Vanilla, Cherry, Coconut Cream, Mint (with a hint of vanilla), Passion Fruit, Peach Mango, Pina Colada, and Strawberry.

Despite my "pageant whore" years, I've never been a big makeup fan. On a typical day, I don't wear any makeup -- just a little bit of moisturizer (typically Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion or Philosophy Hope in a Jar) and a tiny bit of lip gloss. All of the lip protectants are perfect for my normal days and I love being able to choose between all of the different flavors. It won't come as any surprise to reader's of my main blog that the mint has been my favorite so far!! :)

However, if I have somewhere to go (which recently seems to always be the doctor) I will wear a "normal" amount of makeup and I really like the tinted lip conditioner with my makeup. It's not drastic like lipstick can sometimes be but just gives a touch of color. The rose seems to go best with my skin tone.
